Cyrus Nikou is an entrepreneur and philanthropist based in Los Angeles. He is the founder and owner of Atar Capital, a private equity firm deeply committed to sustainable, socially responsible investments.

As the devoted father of two young children, Cyrus believes that we should do everything in our power to make the world a better place. He and the entire Atar Capital team live that mission every day by investing in solutions to humanity’s biggest challenges — and greatest opportunities.

In his day-to-day work as Atar Capital’s managing partner, Cyrus oversees and advises the firm’s operations, corporate development, and M&A activities. Since founding Atar Capital in 2016, he has played a role in more than 20 acquisitions.

Today, Atar manages an international portfolio of a dozen companies with upwards of $1.5 billion in combined annual revenues and more than 13,000 employees around the world. Notable Atar portfolio companies include Pathways Health & Community Support, a groundbreaking mental and behavioral health services organization focused on expanding access to high-quality care, and WinCup Corporation, the second largest food service products manufacturer and market leader in biodegradable straws, cups, lids, utensils, and other disposable products.

Cyrus advises several companies in Atar’s portfolio, including WinCup, Keypoint Intelligence, Solero Technologies, Pathways Health and Community Support, and Frontier Integrity Services.

Before founding Atar, Cyrus spent seven years as co-founding partner of Revolution Capital Group, whose investment portfolio included Maysteel Industries, Tampa Media Group, and Dove Professional Apparel. Cyrus led Revolution Capital’s deal origination team, managed capital commitments with its private equity group, and oversaw day-to-day operations of the entire enterprise.

Outside of his work in the private equity space, Cyrus devotes considerable time and resources to supporting nonprofits and community organizations in and around Los Angeles. He serves on the board of The Sierra Canyon School and supports Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, Upward Bound House, and I Have a Dream Foundation – Los Angeles, among other local charities.

Cyrus Nikou was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and grew up in the Los Angeles area. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and corporate finance from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He remains a loyal supporter of his alma mater and is active in the school’s booster community.
